Blizzard

Well, it is official.  We are having a blizzard with very cold temps tonight.  I am home from work, so I hope to bake cookies, read and sew.  Sounds like so much fun.

Couldn't resist.

This  photo is from the famous Nov 11, 1940 blizzard in Minnesota.  This photo was taken from excelsior boulevard.  My mom would tell stories of being a young girl living in Farmington, with the snow so deep, they  had to tunnel to get out of their home.
I am sure we will not received this much snow!

What will tomorrow bring?

This might be us tomorrow.  We are forecasted with 12-18 inches of snow.  Mankota is told to expect a blizzard.  Snow falling from midnight tonight til midnight tomorrow eve.  Sounds like a day off for me.  I would love to spend time in the kitchen and BAKE.  Also it has been a while since I have been in my craft room, so who knows.  I think though with all the  hype, we might just get a few inches.  Time will tell!

Spring Hail Storm

What an exciting evening. More comments later. All in all we have had a hail storm that I have never experience before. It looked like snow and was inches deep in areas. The roof on our deck is riddled with holes, and according to a contractor the roof on the house and shed need to be replaced. Blessing? This morning you could still see piles of ice from the storm. Our street seems to have received the brunt of it. It looks like a jungle. Many of our neighbors were out raking and tiding up today. The roof looks like it is covered in sod. Jeff said they had a code 'red' at Nickolodeon Universe at the MOA. All people were send to secure areas. The roof on the mall is 7 inch thick glass, so I am sure they were concerned about it breaking and the safety of the people. My vegetable garden has been shredded and will need to be replanted and the flowers also took a beating. Thank goodness it is early in the season!

Steam after the storm from all the hail. It was kind of eerie.
