Well, here is a recap of all the fun activities we have done while Karen, Chris, Ashley and Paige have visited us. Photos will follow later. We have been swimming at Lake Nokomis and a bonus bike ride from Lake Nokomis to Minnehaha Falls. Dad, Chris, and the girls spent a day at Cascade Bay in Eagan enjoying the many water activites. We have also been to the Childrens Museum in St. Paul. It was three floors of fun. All the activities were geared to imagination play. One of the favorite activities was an area where they had a city bus, that the kids could pretend to drive in the city. It actually didn't move, but the destinations were a grocery store, where the kids could shop and also be a cashier, a restaurant where the kids/parents could prepare different recipes and serve to their customers. There was a house with a front porch, doghouse with a dog, a yard and a flower garden. Also a post office with lots of letters that could be mailed in the town. Paige loved doing that and driving the bus. there was a doctors office and a recording studio, where you could play different instruments and be on TV. Very fun. Ashley loved the area where you could load large blocks on this crane apparatus and see it go from one area to another. there also was a floor dedicated to Curious George.
We went on the Jonathan Paddleford Boat and road on the Mississippi River. the day was hot and sunny so the ride was perfect. We heard a history of the area. We visited Minnehaha Falls and saw the statue of Hiawatha carrying Minnehaha across the creek. WE also spent a day at Camp Snoopy, riding various rides for about six hours. who ever thought that going on rides could be exhausting. Needless to say, many of us went to bed early. Ashley's favorite rides were both roller coasters and the tumblers. Paige loved the Balloon race ride and the train. One evening the girls and I had a water fight in the backyard trying to get control of the hose. We were all so drenched but had so much fun. Yesterday we went to Underwater World where we saw all the fish, the sharks were the most impressive. Ashley and Paige were enthralled with all the fish. Karen and I spent a good share of the day cleaning out the garage. I felt like we were on one of the organizing shows on HGTV. The garage looks great with two piles, one for garbage and one to donate/Craigslist/Ebay. I love looking at the garage. Oh yes we also went on some garage sale which was quite fun. We all found some treasures. I will post more news and photos hopefully in the near future.
