It has arrived!

Well, The 5,00 fingers of Dr. T arrived yesterday. Dad and I watched it and it is still scary. No wonder it made an impact on my five year old life. I would not feel comfortable with any of my grandkids watching this video. There is imprisonment with mind control, torture and generally not feeling safe. Granted it is focused on a dream of a nine year old named Bart, as he sits in front of his piano, and how he feels his piano teacher is a tyrant and has control over his mother. His dad is dead and the only one that will listen to him is the plumber. I know that I am very sensitive and impressionable, but dad agreed how this movie would scare a child. I am glad I have been able to view it again, but am reminded of how media shapes the life of the mind.

I read some reviews on amazon, and quite a few people said it even scared them when they were little! Now I am curious to see it myself!

I will be happy to view this with anyone that would like to. It is funny that it was written and directed by Dr. Seuss and rated G. When you do watch the movie you will see the Dr. Seuss theme in the design.

We watched it with Mom and Reed had to leave after not too long. No, not b/c it was too scary, but b/c it's sort of a musical! (He can't stand movies with singing:)) I didn't find it scary at all, but it was very interesting, very Dr. Suess, and very clever. I can see how it may scare a child adn agree with Mom's points about mind control and all. Worth a watch!
